Heat Reduction vs. UV Protection
Almost any film that NWSP carries blocks 99.9% of UV rays. This is what prevents your vehicle’s dashboard from cracking, or your home’s furniture and upholstery from fading. Most UV tint will also block some of the light coming into a room. But even the darkest UV tint we sell (5% Limo Tint) would still only block about 5-15% of the HEAT. Thankfully, tint with solar protection is formulated differently.
Solar tint is manufactured with a nano-ceramic coating in it. This gives it an infrared rejection rate of 93%! That’s important since infrared rays are the ones responsible for those burning hot seat belts and steering wheels in the summertime. Infrared rays bounce off of the ceramic coating in solar tint, rather than penetrating through the glass as it would with regular tint.
